Part 1 If I could leave no stars I would. I am not your typical drug addict / alcoholic. I was online searching for a Christian treatment center and came across TTCOTPB and engaged them by phone. I am a veteran and had an automobile accident years ago while on active duty. In the last five years I have had multiple surgeries on my arms, elbows, wrists and hands to repair damage from the accident. My prescription drug use stemmed from multiple prescriptions for non-opioid pain relievers that, (unbeknownst to me), contained an element of anti-depressant. TTCOTPB had no clue about the drug I was taking. I cam off the drug on y own and was 13 days clean when I contacted TTCOTPB for help. My serotonin levels and other brain chemicals were way awry from years of use, (not abuse to be clear). When I stated I wanted to come in to their Christian treatment center I was told it's a Christian center, pastors on staff, we take you to church, yada-yada-yada. When I informed the two different and separate phone counselors, (whom I later learned were from a call center in the Mid-West and paid for admissions in multiple facilities), of the drug I was taking they informed me that I would likely not "fail" the admissions drug screen and they recommend I find some drug or drugs to use in order to fail. Failure or a drug screen was vital to them in order to be paid by the insurance company for detox. When I hinted that a chef friend of mine could potentially get an ingestible marijuana product they latched onto that and made me promise, (I have all this recorded), that I would take it and come in either high or test positive for marijuana. I did as they asked, (I was desperate for help and near suicidal), got my flight and arrived near midnight late Saturday night, Sunday am. They sent a black car service to get me rather than a staff member or Uber. I mean c'mon, it's 2017, black car services are sky high priced and not nearly as effective, reliable and timely as an Uber. My radar was already on high alert. I arrived and was met by what I thought was an addict but what turned out to be a staff member, (surprise). I was escorted in and then the fun began. My two phone counselors promised I would not be subjected to detox and treated as a rehab patient. Well, to my delight I was summarily removed from my belongings, forced to strip and give a urine sample. "Please understand, I had full support of my wife, family and employer in moving towards help in this situation. I was not a junkie, never purchased drugs, it was when I self-stopped my prescription dugs given to me by the VA that my thoughts became frightening."

  • This place gave me a second chance. Recovery works if you work it. Their class facilitators were great, and this time I applied myself and got a lot out of treatment. I can't say the same for some other people who go to treatment. Thank you Dr. Bianccini!
